Dear Friends,
In the last weeks we lost three musicians that touched the hearts of a lot of people. First of all Buck Owens, the originator of the "Bakersfield Sound", who was a friend to all and kept performing until his final day.
Then, of course, Nikki Sudden, who died in New York City after a gig in the Knitting Factory. With the Swell Maps, the Jacobites and his solo work he wrote music history and if there ever was someone who lived and breethed Rock'n'Roll it surely was him.
Not widely known was Cindy Walker. She was one of Country music's premier songwriters and had her songs covered by about everyone. The latest album by Willie Nelson ("You Don't Know Me") is a tribute to her and it is among his best works in recent years.
So on Wednesday we will remember these great performers and I'll be spinning tracks from each of them. Come by and have Beachcomber Zombie for your very own "memento mori"-moment.
